The Rose Bay to Watsons Bay Walk is an 8km coastal/urban walk starting at the Rose Bay ferry and following the coast Via Neilson’s Park and Parsley Bay finishing at Watsons Bay.
The walk is easy moderate with some steep sections and coastal steps. There are great views of the harbour, secluded bays, and private houses. There are plenty of rest stops along the way and the regular ferry service from Watson Bay ensures there is no time pressure.
For those wishing to stay for lunch a booking will be made at the Watson Bay Hotel.
When: Thursday 29 May 2025. Starting 9.45am from Rose Bay Ferry Wharf.
Getting There: Ferry is the preferred option. Suggest the 8.13am Cabarita Ferry which will connect with the 9.05am ferry to Rose Bay. The walk starts at the Rose Bay Ferry Wharf. (suggest coffee from Jezve coffee before we start).
Starting time: 9.45am. 12P & 4P parking is available at the wharf for those wanting to drive.
Duration: Average 2 hours. Allow around 2.5 hours from the coffee shop. There are toilets at the cafe and along the way. Nielsen Park cafe is now open after the beach restoration.
Getting Back: There is a half hour ferry service from Watsons Bay Via Rose Bay to the Quay.
Access/fitness: Good – fitness required. The weather is changeable, bring a light jacket, a single walking pole (recommended) wear good walking shoes.
