Visit the redeveloped North Head for a tour of the military history and its place in defending Sydney Harbour. The tour will explore monuments, bush trails and the military emplacements.
Where: North Head visitors Centre. The guided tour is 90 minutes and starts at 11:00am.
Getting there: On Tuesday 25 March we will catch the 9:08am ferry from Cabarita to Circular Quay. Then the 9:45am ferry to Manly and the 10:12am 161 bus to North Head.
Access/fitness: The tunnels cannot accommodate mobility devices, There is the equivalent of two flights of stairs. Time spent in the tunnels will be about 20 minutes and a further 20 minutes in the plotting room. The rest will be in the surrounds and exposed, so sun protection is advised.
There will be some well made bush tracks, paved surfaces and stairs as well as being in the tunnels for part of the tour.
Numbers: There is a limit of 15 for the tour but you can come to North Head and guide yourself around if you wish.
Cost: $8 for seniors paid to the treasurer using the bank reference code yoursurname NHT.

Note: A table booking will be made at Bella Vista Cafe at North Head once numbers have been reached. You are welcome to join and do your own thing at North Head if you do not want to go in the tunnels and join the group for lunch afterwards.
