At our next Travel Chat meeting on Wednesday 14 June, we will be looking at physical and soul uplifting destinations which are over the top and sublime! I’m talking about mountain destinations within NSW, all easily accessible by car or by train.
Firstly, the Blue Mountains – world heritage area. We will concentrate on spots easily accessible from the railway stations on the Blue Mountain rail line.
Secondly, the Snowy Mountains, the highest mountain range. The Snowy Mountains are good for summer bush walks and see alpine wildflowers at their peak. Also for thrill seekers, considering mountain biking which is growing in popularity. Also a great destination to escape the summer heat. The Snowy Mountains are exciting for winter skiing or snow activities.
Thirdly, the Barrington Tops behind Newcastle – a world heritage area. A recent short 4 day stay was organised by Judy Mitchell for 30 members and we will recap our enjoyment of spots around Gloucester: the scenic geology, its history and its human activity such as farming, wine yards, eateries and historic gold mine. So those who came on that short stay come along and re-live your experiences and share them with others.
Lastly, Karin Canty will conduct a short Q and A on her planned overseas holiday to East Canada in September 2024. So if you are interested in joining that group, come along.
Another information packed session promised.
So see you there on 14 June at 11:00am to 1:00pm in the Breakfast Point Admin building where we will climb every mountain!
