STUNNING SARDINIA, SICILY AND ITS SECRETS
Wednesday 10 July at 11:00 am – 1.00 pm

Last month, 26 enthusiastic travellers of which 12 were from our Probus club, toured two beautiful islands in the Mediterranean Sea- Sardinia and Sicily.
They enjoyed seeing the natural beauty of both these islands with their rugged landscapes, fields of vineyards and olive trees and stunning clear turquoise waters. The villages were authentic, historical and not yet spoilt by over-tourism. They saw how the influences of the Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Normans, Spanish, Arabs and Moors have shaped these islands over time: resulting in rich and varied layers to the architectures, arts, its people and their culture and cuisines.

Some members will share their favourite part of the trip such as:
* Mike exploring the famous Neptune Grotto in Alghero
* Sandra’s guided tour of the Teatro Maximus, the famous Opera House in Palermo and a boat trip
around Ortigia. Also how she was nearly blown away on Mount Etna.
* Connie’s two favourite parts were Erice (up in the clouds) and Cefalu with its Norman Cathedral. On a personal note, she was delighted to find the film location of her favourite movie Cinema Paradiso in Cefalu.

Now, what happens on tour, stays on tour but they are going to spill the beans on some of the funny things which happened, including a novel way to treat swollen feet.
So come along and hear about stunning Sardinia and Sicily and some secrets that happened on tour this Wednesday 10 July at the Breakfast Point Admin Building, 2-4 Magnolia Drive from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.
