The Automobile Club of Australia, formed in Sydney on 20 March 1903, was the first motoring association in Australia.
The Macquarie Street building was constructed from 1926 to 1928. It is an important, and relatively rare, example of a purpose-built gentleman’s club from the early 20th century and continues to provide a number of its original services and facilities for its members. The building itself is an example of Interwar Commercial Palazzo, but more to be learnt on the tour!
