Painting with Stone – Walking Tour
The work of the Melocco brothers is embedded in the architecture of Australia. In mosaic, terrazzo, sgraffito, scagliola and many derivations of these ancient marble artforms.
Join a 2-hour guided walk to some of Sydney’s stunning buildings decorated in mosaic and terrazzo by the Melocco brothers, who migrated from a small village in Italy to make their mark on Sydney’s history by ‘Painting with Stone’.

Where:
We will meet at Metro St James Cafe, Hyde Park (above St James Station) from 10:00 and then walk together to the rendezvous point outside St Mary’s Cathedral.
A venue for lunch at the conclusion of the walk to be advised for those wishing to dine.
Number restriction:
15 maximum
Duration/Fitness:
2 hours. Note that there is quite a bit of walking as the tour covers from the Anzac Memorial in Hyde Park to the State Library in Macquarie Street, and across to Martin Place and Market Street.

$35 per person
