Pétanque is a classic French throwing game where metal boules (balls) are tossed/ lobbed through the air.
The aim is to be closest to the jack or cochonnet. Points are score by the team or individual who is closest to the cochonnet.
Play can be 1-on-1 (singles with 3 boules each), 2-on-2 (doubles with 3 boules each), or 3-on-3 (triples with 2 boules each).
