In late November some members of our Cookbook Club, including some partners, enjoyed a wonderful outing together; eleven of us in all.
Rosalie and Mahmoud Karim hosted us on their very comfortable, 52ft motor yacht. The day was perfect for an adventure, despite some inclement weather.
From the Cabarita marina, we headed towards the Sydney Heads enjoying the sights as we went – the captain’s tour was excellent! We could have turned right at the Heads and continued to Bondi, but instead we reversed our direction back to Bantry Bay, where we anchored for our foodie time. Scrumptious food was served on deck, and we all enjoyed the varied choices … an ambrosial sense for all!

One of our intrepid members decided to go for a swim off the back of the boat. I thought that was very brave – word is this bay is a breeding ground for bull sharks!!!! Horror story!

The weather changed whist anchored in the bay; the skies changed to grey, the wind built up, and the rain came. The bay provided protection from the wind, but rain forced us all below deck where we continued with our foodie delights.

When the rain ceased, we headed back out chasing the distant blue skies. Evidently the storm was wild and short, but we were safe and thoroughly enjoyed the adventure.
We covered approximately 56kms on the water, and five hours enjoying everyone’s company. Arriving back at the marina, we laughed, had coffee, and recounted the day’s fun.
A very pleasant outing enjoyed by all. Many thanks to our hosts for this memorable day.
