Bush Walk – Lane Cover Riverside Walk – Tuesday 22 November

This 11 km loop will be our last walk for 2022. We will allow around 3.5 to 4 hours including scheduled breaks and a coffee stop.

The walk has great views of the river, plenty of bird life, and lots of geckos. We will start from the Max Allen Park with a short steep downhill section of fire trail. The path crosses the De Burghs Bridge on Lane Cove Road then joins the main walk that meanders along both sides of the Lane Cove River.

The track has a combination of easy, moderate, and difficult sections. The first stage of about 6km gets us to the coffee shop and is easy to moderate. The second section, of about 4.5 km, is generally uphill with some difficult sections, and returns us to the parked cars.

There is plenty of shade along the way but, as the weather is warming up, we recommend light clothing, solid walking shoes or boots, and perhaps one pole.

When: Tuesday, 22 November

Time:  We meet at 9:00 am at Max Allen Park – corner of Blaxland and Terrace Roads, Killara (off Lady Game Drive).

Getting there: Car Pooling is the preferred option. Street parking with no fees is available.
Please advise if you are willing to share your vehicle, or whether you require a lift.
Allow 45 minutes due to morning traffic.

Duration: 3.5 – 4.0 hrs.
The walk will finish at the cars but nearby Eden Gardens Nursery has a restaurant for those who wish to stay for lunch. Snacks are available at the halfway Coffee shop, or take a sandwich to eat along the way.
