The Riverina Rail Tour Experience – 5-9 March 2023

Travel Riverina Rail Tour experience, the heart of Australia’s food bowl, stopping at regional towns and attractions. Come aboard and travel in style on the newly restored 1960s ex-Southern Aurora sleeping carriages. Sight seeing is included at each stop providing off train experiences on a fleet of coaches.

Discover acclaimed wines, taste gorgeous fresh produce and explore the natural scenery throughout the Riverina region.

Where: The Riverina Rail adventure is a 5 days and 4 nights tour, commences and concludes at Sydney Central Railway Station.

Sleep onboard in stationary sleeping carriages overnight. Dining and Lounge carriages are available. Meals are prepared by chefs using local ingredients.

When: Sunday 5 March 2023 at 9:00 am travelling through to Thursday 9 March 2023, finishing at approximately 6:30 pm.

Cost: Prices for 2023 have increased due to diesel costs.  The package includes most meals, accommodation, travel and sightseeing tours.

Twinette – $4,495.00 per person (ie 2 people in one low and one high bunk with private shower and toilet).

Roomette (solo) – $4,495.00 per person (ie single cabin with share toilet and shower facilities at the end of the carriage).

Payment: Contact Vintage Rail Journeys on 1300 421 422 or use the website booking facility. You will be asked to provide a 10% deposit by credit card or direct deposit.  Full payment is due 90 days prior to tour departure.  Cancellation charges are detailed on the booking form.

Please contact the convener, Karin Canty using the online booking form when you have completed your booking with Vintage Rail Journeys, so that tour numbers can be collected.

Bookings close: The earlier bookings are made, the easier it will be for the company to place all Probus members together on the train.

Note: The tour requires reasonable fitness and mobility as Heritage trains are not designed to accommodate wheelchairs or walkers. If booking a Twinette room, one person will need to climb up and down a ladder to the top bunk. You will need to embark and disembark the train, coaches and other transport without assistance. You must handle your own luggage, be able to walk moderate distances, stand comfortably and climb steps and stairs.
