Self-guided tour of Parramatta Park – Friday 6 November 2020

This self-guided tour takes in many of the park’s historic sites & monuments, including its gatehouses, the Crescent, the Observatory Transit Stones, the Bath House and the Boer War Memorial.

Maps will be given out on the day. This is a walking tour and will involve an easy flat walk 1.4 km from the wharf (or you can take the free shuttle) to the park & return. The loop of the park is 3.2 km and is a shared path with stops along the way to look at sites.

We will have time for lunch afterwards in the Park. Weather dependent.

Place: Parramatta Park – George Street Gates. Return Rivercat ferry from Cabarita wharf to Parramatta wharf and then walk or free shuttle to the Park.
Meeting place and time: We meet at Cabarita Wharf to catch the 9:49 am ferry to arrive at Parramatta at 10:33 am.

Cost: Return Ferry fare. BYO Lunch or the Park has cafes if you prefer to buy it on the day.

Additional notes: Members can return home at their leisure. Ferries leave Parramatta Wharf every hour, eg 1:38 pm, 2:38 pm etc.
Please remember to bring a hat, sunscreen, water, hand sanitiser. Facemasks are advisable on all Public Transport.

Due to COVID19 restrictions we must adhere to social distancing rule of 1.5m. As we are only allowed 30 people we can’t allow walk-ins on the day.
