This walk starts in the Wilson Park near the Wentworth Falls Village and follows the Jamieson Creek to Wentworth Falls Lookout for about 2.5 km and takes about 1.5 hours to complete, as it is a bush track.
We will be following in the footsteps of Charles Darwin who walked this track in 1836 along the Jamieson Creek.
The return walk will be via Falls Road back to the village and takes 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour.
It is graded as an easy walk, however there are well spaced stairs at the end of the walk.
You will need to bring your lunch and water and we can eat at a pleasant park, which has toilet facilities near the Lookout but no food outlets. Please wear sun protection and suitable walking shoes, as the track is a bush track.
There are two options for travelling to Wentworth Falls Station.
Option A – to catch the 8:31 am train from Strathfield arriving at Wentworth Falls at 10:07 am. Please keep in mind that parking is difficult at Strathfield Station.
Option B – to car pool and meet the train from Strathfield at the Wentworth Falls Station at 10:07 am in time to have a coffee at the Blue Mist Cafe directly opposite the station before we start our walk. There is a little shop next door where you can buy some food.
